Instructor
Hi, my name is John Painter and I'm the instructor for this Lewiston Adult Education class on iPads and iPhones. Though I was born and raised here in Maine, I attended college in Washington State, and lived and worked in Europe for a number of years before returning to Maine to settle. I live here in Lewiston with my wife Kati, who is a professor at Bates College, my son and our two Mini Schnauzers.
By profession, I am a psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner, and was specifically trained in the use of the Boston University model, a form of Rogerian "person centered" counseling. However I hold a deep interest in science and technology, and am interested in discovering those points where humanity and technology intersect and can help improve the human condition. This class is an offshoot of my interests in digital humanities.
